Nike Air Max One Piece is now official. On 23 August 2026, Nike confirmed a full One Piece footwear and apparel collaboration built around three versions of the Air Max Plus, each tied to one of the manga’s Devil Fruits: Gomu Gomu no Mi, Ope Ope no Mi and Mera Mera no Mi. The first physical launch is scheduled for Tokyo from 4 to 6 September, selected retailers follow on 12 and 19 September, and Nike has set 25 September for the wider SNKRS release. In Britain, the significant date is 19 September, when selected parts of the collection are due at Offspring in London, before the Gomu Gomu Air Max Plus reaches eligible European markets through SNKRS pre-order on 25 September. The WP Times reports the collaboration as a footwear-led release rather than a simple graphics exercise: Nike says all three Air Max Plus editions have completely retooled uppers made specifically for the project.

The collection also extends well beyond trainers. Nike has confirmed jerseys, T-shirts, caps and a vest, with actual manga panels, a joint Nike x One Piece logo and imagery linked directly to the series rather than generic anime styling. The footwear is the centrepiece, but availability differs sharply between the three colourways: Gomu Gomu receives the broadest SNKRS distribution, Mera Mera is restricted to selected retailers across parts of Asia, Mexico and Australia, while Ope Ope is reserved for selected retailers in the United States and Europe. That distinction matters for UK buyers because a “global launch” does not mean every Air Max Plus version will be sold through the same channel.

Nike Air Max One Piece turns three Devil Fruits into Air Max Plus designs

The central idea behind nike air max one piece is unusually specific for a franchise collaboration. Nike has not simply placed character illustrations or One Piece logos on an existing Air Max Plus upper. According to the company’s official announcement, each of the three shoes uses a completely reworked upper developed exclusively for the collection, with the design and colour treatment based on a particular Devil Fruit from Eiichiro Oda’s fictional world. The three inspirations are Gomu Gomu no Mi, Ope Ope no Mi and Mera Mera no Mi. Each carries its own visual language, while the Air Max Plus provides the common silhouette linking the range together.

The crucial detail is that Nike treats the Devil Fruits as the design system for the shoes, not merely as decorative references.

Nike’s Nick Remlinger, GM of Energy Gaming, connected the concept directly to the abilities the fruits give characters in One Piece. “We were inspired by the superhuman abilities that are unleashed when One Piece characters eat the Devil Fruits,” Remlinger said in Nike’s 23 August announcement, adding that the design team wanted to reinterpret the Air Max Plus in a form fans had not previously seen.

The result is a three-part footwear line with separate distribution plans rather than three colour options released everywhere at once.

Nike sets out those regional rules on its official Nike x One Piece SNKRS launch page.

When does Nike x One Piece release in the UK?

For British buyers, Nike x One Piece UK release information is split across two dates. Nike’s global retail schedule lists Offspring in London for 19 September, the same day that the Ope Ope Air Max Plus is scheduled to reach selected retailers in Europe and the United States. Nike does not state on the main newsroom page which individual products Offspring will carry, so the confirmed fact is the London retail participation and date, not a guaranteed allocation of every item in the capsule.

The second date is 25 September. Nike says the Gomu Gomu Air Max Plus will become available through SNKRS pre-order in the United States, Japan and “select European countries” from that date. The company has not named those European countries individually on the launch-details page currently available, so UK inclusion in that specific pre-order programme should not be treated as confirmed until Nike lists the market directly.

For the release schedule as it currently stands:

  1. Tokyo opens the rollout with a pop-up running from 4 to 6 September.
  2. Selected Asian and Mexican retailers begin selling parts of the collection on 12 September.
  3. London and several other European and US retailers join the rollout on 19 September.
  4. Gomu Gomu footwear and selected apparel reach SNKRS markets on 25 September.
  5. Sydney’s Supply receives selected products from 16 to 18 October.

For UK customers, 19 September is the first explicitly confirmed British retail date in Nike’s published schedule.

Nike lists Offspring alongside Patta in Amsterdam, Afew in Düsseldorf, Footdistrict in Madrid, One Block Down in Milan and SNS in Stockholm. The American stores scheduled for the same date include Politics in Dallas, Sole Play in Georgia, Arts & Rec in San Diego and Somewhere in Washington, D.C.

What are the three Nike One Piece Air Max Plus shoes?

The One Piece Air Max Plus range divides the collaboration according to three Devil Fruits rather than three characters. That distinction gives the shoes a stronger connection to the internal logic of the manga: Devil Fruits grant unusual abilities to the people who consume them, and Nike translates those powers, shapes and associations into footwear.

Gomu Gomu no Mi Air Max Plus gets the widest distribution

Gomu Gomu no Mi is the version receiving the broadest direct Nike distribution. From 25 September, Nike says it will be offered through SNKRS pre-order in the United States, Japan and selected European countries. China, Mexico and Australia receive a standard SNKRS launch on the same date, while Korea gets the shoe through SNKRS Exclusive Access. Selected Gomu Gomu apparel is also scheduled for a worldwide SNKRS launch on 25 September.

The release structure makes Gomu Gomu the most accessible of the three versions on paper, although Nike has not published one universal stock list or a single sales mechanism covering every region.

Mera Mera no Mi is a retailer-focused release

The Nike One Piece Mera Mera Air Max Plus has a narrower route. Nike says it will be sold only through selected retailers in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Indonesia and Mexico from 12 September. Australia follows considerably later, with availability scheduled for 16 to 18 October.

There is no confirmed UK retail allocation for Mera Mera in Nike’s present launch notice.

Ope Ope no Mi is the important European exclusive

Ope Ope is the version British and European collectors have the clearest reason to watch. Nike states that the Ope Ope Air Max Plus will be available only at selected retailers in the United States and Europe on 19 September. The company’s broader city list places Offspring in London among retailers participating that day, although the newsroom announcement does not explicitly match specific colourways to each named shop.

That wording leaves an important boundary around what is known: Europe is confirmed for Ope Ope, London is confirmed as a Nike x One Piece retail location on 19 September, but Nike has not published a store-by-store footwear allocation in the official material currently available.

Nike One Piece clothing uses manga panels and archive references

Footwear accounts for only part of the Nike One Piece collection. The apparel range includes Air Max Plus jerseys and caps drawing on Nike archive pieces, alongside T-shirts using One Piece manga illustrations reframed in the visual style of classic Nike advertising. Nike has also incorporated the collaboration logo and a Jolly Roger design associated with protagonist Monkey D. Luffy.

Another item takes a more literal route into the story. Nike has created a vest inspired by the fictional consequence of eating a Devil Fruit: users of the fruits lose the ability to swim and are described in the series as being rejected by the sea. Rather than adding another character print, the garment turns that piece of lore into the reason for the product itself.

The confirmed apparel categories are:

  • Air Max Plus jerseys based on Nike archive references;
  • matching caps;
  • T-shirts incorporating manga artwork;
  • T-shirts using Nike-style advertising treatments;
  • pieces featuring the Nike x One Piece identity;
  • a vest linked to the Devil Fruit mythology.

The apparel follows the same principle as the trainers: references are taken from identifiable details in One Piece rather than added as detached branding.

Nike’s official One Piece collection announcement also confirms that manga panels themselves appear within the clothing range.

Why Nike chose the Air Max Plus for One Piece

Nike has not presented the collaboration as a new performance shoe. The Air Max Plus is being used as a familiar Nike platform that can be extensively altered without losing the recognisable identity of the model. In this project, that means new uppers for all three Devil Fruit versions and archive-derived jerseys and caps that extend the footwear story into clothing. Remlinger’s description gives the clearest explanation of the design logic. Nike compared the powers unlocked by Devil Fruits with the feeling of capability associated with putting on sports footwear, then used that premise to reshape the Air Max Plus. The company’s language is promotional, but the physical consequence is concrete: Nike says the uppers are exclusive to this collaboration rather than standard Air Max Plus constructions carrying new colour combinations.

“We then started reimagining the beloved Air Max Plus in a way that fans of the silhouette have never seen before.” (Nick Remlinger, Nike Energy Gaming, speaking in Nike’s collection announcement on 23 August 2026)

That also explains why the collaboration is organised around three shoes rather than a single flagship pair. Gomu Gomu, Ope Ope and Mera Mera each provide a different source for colour, surface treatment and storytelling while Nike retains one footwear silhouette across the range.

Nike x One Piece release dates and stores

Nike’s rollout is deliberately staggered. Tokyo receives the first activation almost three weeks before the 25 September SNKRS date, while participating independent and specialist retailers enter the schedule by region.

The city schedule comes directly from Nike’s 23 August newsroom release, while the separate SNKRS page explains which of the three Air Max Plus versions follows each regional distribution model.

The distinction is useful because Nike uses “global launch” for the overall collection on 25 September, but the Ope Ope and Mera Mera shoes operate through narrower retail programmes. A shopper searching only SNKRS on 25 September could therefore be looking in the wrong place for two of the three designs.

What buyers need to know before 25 September

The Nike Air Max Plus One Piece release date is not a single date for every product. The collaboration begins on 4 September in Tokyo, expands to selected retailers on 12 and 19 September, reaches its broad SNKRS phase on 25 September and continues in Australia in October. Nike has confirmed the distribution mechanics but has not provided a universal price list in the official launch information reviewed for this article.

For Britain, Offspring in London is the only UK retailer named in Nike’s initial city schedule. The London date is 19 September. Gomu Gomu then moves to SNKRS pre-order in selected European countries on 25 September, while Nike has not yet identified those countries individually on the official US-facing launch-details page. The official Nike SNKRS launch information is therefore the relevant source for final regional access rather than third-party release calendars.

The collection’s confirmed structure is clear: three redesigned Air Max Plus shoes, several apparel categories, three distinct distribution strategies and a staggered international rollout. For UK buyers, 19 September in London and 25 September on eligible European SNKRS markets are the dates that matter most.
