Polish President Karol Nawrocki attracted international attention during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York after cameras recorded him discreetly using a nicotine pouch, reports The WP Times with reference to Polskie Radio. The footage shows an aide handing Nawrocki a small container, allegedly containing snus, which he then slipped under his lip during a break in the proceedings.
The episode quickly circulated on social media, sparking widespread commentary. Several Polish politicians condemned the act, describing it as “a national embarrassment” and “a breach of protocol” in front of the global community.
This is not the first time Nawrocki’s use of snus has drawn public attention. Back in May 2025, when he was still a presidential candidate, he was reportedly seen placing a nicotine pouch under his lip during live televised debates, fueling further criticism of his public behavior.
