The Danish toy manufacturer Lego is officially commencing its journey into the Star Trek universe with the launch of the iconic starship Enterprise-D, fulfilling a long-standing desire among science fiction fans across the United Kingdom. This inaugural set is a highly detailed model of the Enterprise-D from the television series "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and is being released under the "Icons" product line. The massive set contains 3,600 pieces and will be available for purchase in the UK at a price of £349.99. The confirmed release date for the product is November 28, 2025. This represents a significant shift for Lego, which has predominantly focused on the rival Star Wars universe in previous years. Now, the creations stemming from Star Trek founder Gene Roddenberry are finally securing a permanent place in the product catalogue. Previously, construction models based on the Star Trek franchise were primarily available in the UK from specialist providers like BlueBrixx, reported by The WP Times, citing lego.
The completed Lego model of the NCC-1701-D measures 60 cm long, 48 cm wide, and 27 cm high, designed to be mounted on a display stand. A special feature, faithful to the source material, is the ability to detach the primary saucer section, a maneuver last seen when the ship was destroyed in the feature film "Star Trek: Generations." Furthermore, the cover of the main shuttle bay can be opened to reveal two smaller mini-shuttles inside.

Included with the set are Lego figures modeled after the series' main characters. These include Captain Jean-Luc Picard (holding his preferred beverage, Earl Grey, hot), Commander William T. Riker (accompanied by the trombone he played in the series), bartender Guinan, Dr. Beverly Crusher with her son Wesley, as well as Data, Worf, Deanna Troi, and Geordi LaForge. Even Data’s cat, Spot, is included. Buyers of the set are also expected to receive a Type-15 Shuttle (261 pieces) as a free gift, which includes the Bajoran character Ro Laren as an additional minifigure.
