US President Donald Trump has said that the war between Russia and Ukraine will be the ninth conflict he personally resolves. The WP Times reports, citing Bloomberg and Reuters. The president made the statement while speaking to journalists aboard Air Force One, reiterating his earlier claims about ending multiple international confrontations and stressing that peace agreements “save millions of lives” and “strengthen America’s reputation worldwide.”
“I resolved eight wars — and the ninth is coming. I believe the Russia-Ukraine war will be the one,” he said. His remarks came after several recent meetings with European officials, during which he discussed the potential framework for a ceasefire and reconstruction in Ukraine.

Trump has repeatedly claimed credit for resolving or mediating conflicts in regions such as:

Trump acknowledged that ending the Russia-Ukraine war presents a unique challenge, citing what he called a “deep personal hostility” between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Despite this, he said he believes that “direct dialogue and practical diplomacy” could bring a negotiated end to hostilities.
Bloomberg earlier reported that Ukraine and its European allies are preparing a 12-point peace framework based on the current front lines. The plan reportedly focuses on establishing a lasting ceasefire, the return of prisoners, and phased security guarantees coordinated with NATO and the EU.
According to Reuters, US officials have not confirmed whether Trump intends to formally join or propose a new peace initiative, but diplomatic sources say the White House is monitoring Kyiv’s 12-point plan closely.
